​DEC 28th Creative Director Matthew Marcum featured in The LA Times and The Daily Press ahead of OFF BROADWAY PREMIER
"I call it a vocal collage," says creative director and performance artist Matthew Marcum as he explains his latest show "Pollock: A Frequency Parable," which opens off-Broadway Jan. 3 at The Soho Playhouse in New York. Presented as a special engagement with writer and director Billy Rae Brewton's play, "A Beast/A Burden," entitled, "Nature and Purpose," Marcum provides the nature of Jackson Pollock, while Ben Hethcoat finds purpose in his role as Christopher Burden. Both shows were standouts at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, with Pollock nabbing a Hollywood Encore Producers Award and Burden bringing home a Best of Broadwater nod. Darren Lee Cole, Artistic Director of the Soho Playhouse and Executive Director of the NYC ENCORE Series partnered with Hollywood ENCORE Producer's Award Executive Director, Matthew Quinn, in selecting the two shows as a double bill that pays tribute to two of the art worlds most provocative players."

"In an off-Broadway double bill dedicated to two of modern art’s most revered luminaries, Jackson Pollock, and Christopher Burden, performance artist Matthew Marcum, and the cast of “A Beast/A Burden,” do not disappoint in “Nature and Purpose.” During a special limited engagement run at The SoHo Playhouse, Marcum is electrifying as Jackson Pollock, in his rock-opera “Pollock: A Frequency Parable,” while Ben Hethcoat, who bears a striking resemblance to Christopher Burden, touches on the often negated humanity of an artist primarily known for taking a bullet for art’s sake…literally."

​DEC 15th OFF BROADWAY DEBUT in NYC - JANUARY 2019
Hollywood Encore Producers' Award winner "Matthew Marcum - Pollock: A Frequency Parable" and Best of the Broadwater Award winner "A Beast/A Burden" will be making an OFF BROADWAY debut of new work :Nature and Purpose".
